I had so much fun, trying my new sets from Stampin Up’s Holiday Mini.
A Christmas Cardinal was shouting to me for this challenge and to even add more dimension, I used the wheel that compliments the set Scandinavian Season.
It wheels like buddah and this set will mezmorize you also..Be careful!!
“Dear Mrs. Stampin Up…, it would be wonderful to have some Designer Paper made from the set "Scandinavian Season” very funky and creative stamps. Wonder if she will hear me!!
I incorporated many of the “ New In Colors” for my cards and falling in love with how they compliment almost any color.
The majority of my stamping was done with Stampin Up’s craft ink and embossing with clear embossing powder. Lots of sponging and Distressing to achieve multi tones.
Templates used were Stampin Up’s Bigz Dies that are utilized on the Sizzix Big Shot machine, now available through Stampin Up. The Top Note Bigz die and Scallop Circle large, can be found at the back of Stampin Up’s Holiday Mini catalogue.
I am realizing the full potential of this machine and very happy I made this expenditure.
Cutting tools are the window to creativity; and, I find I always use my die cuts, no matter how old they are. I have dusted of all of my old dies from various companies and rediscovering them all over again. Yes, you can use all dies on the Big Shot machine. What I am most excited about, is how the BIGZ dies, cut chipboard with ease. I love embellishing and painting chipboard.
Happy Stamping everyone and get those Christmas cards going.
Just a quick note on a new addition to my blog. See the tabs at the top of my blog; I added, Photography, another one of my passions..I will be uploading more pictures from time to time.
I am working on designing some sympathy cards; and unfortunately there always seems to be an occassion to give cards to family. ( Not the best scan of these cards and far more beautiful in IRL.)
I stamped the Flower and Angel on Stampin Up Cardstock Vellum, embossing in Black Pigment Ink made by Ranger and using clear embossing powder. I love this technique of coloring on the backside with Stampin Up markers and Blender Pens;
The Angel is from a company called Stone House Stamps… (Vintage Angels) feast your eyes on the beautiful work in the gallery.
The Flourish Flower and Crackle background are from Innovative Stamp Creations, the sheets are called: Fancy Design and About Me.
Take a browse of Elaine Seip’s photo bucket store " Integrity Designs" she carries these stamps. Visit her Blog Here.
The Die Cut frame and corners are from Spellbinders and Provo Craft … wonderful accents for cards.
This was a challenge of many “firsts". My first attempt, using Stampin Up’s New In-Colors, the new stamp sets, Nestabilities and Sizzix Bigz Dies.
I really felt like I was breaking out of my comfort zone with the bold and bright Cardstock. I love them, and can’t wait to make a few more cards with these colors. Thanks Lisa for the challenge.
Stamps: Pocket Sillhouette, Sanded Background Stamp, Inspired By Nature and Carte Postal.
Inks and Cardstock: Riding Hood Red, Tangerine Tango, Kiwi Kiss, Pacific Point,
Other Inks: Old Olive, Goovey Guava, Basic Black and Black Craft for the embossing.
Check out the other blogger’s challenge cards HERE.
Another Blogger’s Challenge Card. This challenge involved any "Resist Technique". Emboss Resist is one of my favorites. The background was done using Luna Lights paints, it was a little bright and conflicting with the flowers, so I brayered over top with Stampin Up Going Grey Ink. The flowers were embossed with White Embossing powder.
Hello fellow stampers, bloggers and customers. I finally mounted this card. Love, love Riot of Petals from the Stampin Up, Spring Summer Collection. This stamp is a background stamp and can be viewed on page 136.
Don’t you love the vines? I went crazy when I saw the set "Essence of Love" in the current Stampin Up - Occasions , mini catalogue. This set can be viewed on page four. Click here for the on-line catties. The final date to order this set is June 30th. Don’t snooze, or you may miss the chance to purchase all the wonderful stamps in this catalogue. Both sets, lend versatility for both cardmaking and scrapbooking. I cannot wait to do a Scrapbook page combining the images.
This card was fairly easy and a little bit of a twist to brayering on the background. The technique is from Pat’s Stamps Technique Junkies 2005 Newsletter. A must-have subscription for all stampers. I embossed using Stampin Up Craft Black Ink and clear Embossing Powder on Very Vanilla Cardstock. I brayered overtop using the Pumpkin Patch spectrum pad. Again, can’t tell you all of it..you must be a subscriber..check out her site here.
To color the flowers, I used my aqua painter with clear water and removed the colors from the spectum pad. With light touch of hand and I mean light, I used aqua painter and reinker colors in a painting well to color inside the flower image.
Note: Look closely, I used Yoyo Yellow to highlight the black vines. Again, the scan does not do the card justice..
If you want to see more samples of these two sets, grab a cup of coffee and stop by SplitCoaststampers, click here and here on the Stampin Up gallery. Yikes… ooohhh laaa..laaa some beautiful work on this site, lots of wonderful talent to be viewed.
Note to my customers: I will be placing an order next Tuesday, don’t snooze on these wonderful sets in the Occasions Mini.
Finally I am getting around to uploading my cards. I recall trying one of Pat’s Stamps wonderful techniques and I ended up in never-never land. A morphed technique, but still turned out okay. I guess I stamp like I cook and never follow the receipe. Check out Pat’s site, as she just uploaded the Stampin Up Gallery and anyone can view this gallery. I am a subscriber, and love all the wonderful techniques to discover, the breathtaking samples and great friends I have met.
On the brown toned background, I used Stampin Up Watercolor crayons on water color paper. I did not like how it turned out, so I sprayed the entire piece with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist sprays. See Elaines photo bucket store in Canada. She carried these wonderful sprays.
The word stamps are retired sets from a Sell-a-brations 2007, and retired set "Like it a-Latte".
I embossed the Heart with Stampin Up Craft Ink and clear embossing powder. It looked drab and I wanted to pop the heart out more. I finally got to use my ooohhh, laaa, laaa..Sakura Glaze Gel Pens. These are a must have.
Thanks for visiting my blog..feel free to ask me any questions.

A stamp set after my own heart. I have a passion for flowers and gardening, and this image shall grace my summer scrapbook pages. "From the Garden" is a level one Hostess set in the Sping/Summer Stampin Up 08 catalogue. Click Here to see this beautiful set.
The words across the bottom of the card "Bloom" are part of the stamp set called "Bloomin Beautiful" from the Occassions Mini catalogue. Click here..to see these stunning floral images.
Water coloring this image was a humbling experience, so with aqua painter in hand, reinkers and painting well I tried my best to lend some beauty to this image. I discovered that perfecting the skill of watercoloring takes time and patience. I need more practice.
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Almost Amythest, Glossy White, Rose Red, Basic Black and Pretty in Pink, and Chocolate Chip.
Images were embossed using: Black Craft Ink and clear embossing powder
Water Coloring Image - Reinkers used: Summer Sun, Lavender Lace, Certainly, Garden Green, Pretty in Pin, and Rose Red. All of these colors were heavily diluted with water.
The background on Glossy White was done by brayering colours onto CS from my own spectrum pad of browns and pinks. This gave a nice tonal effect.
If you would love to add some shimmer to this water coloring technique, click here to see Pat Stamps Technique Junkie subscriber pages. I am a subscriber and love all the techniques Pat has to offer.
Happy Spring to Everyone and thanks for visiting my blog.
The two cards I designed are different color combinations for me. I wanted to do something "Springy" and love how these two sets combined so well. If you should posess, in your collection, the retired SU set called Bodacious, it also compliments these flower images.. Background Stamp is Pretty Petals, and Pretty Amazing stamp set.
The Techniques I used, were emboss resist, which is embossing in a craft ink and using clear EP. I used craft ink Appricote Appeal on Very Vanilla CS. A number of colors and methods were used to create the background..I brayered, sponged, and DTP numerous colors. Perfect Plum, Pale Plum and Going Grey.
Note my little digital flowers on the background, I made these in Adobe Photoshop using an oval brush..I am not very digital savvy, so quite an accomplishment for me..
Copyright of these images belong to Stampin Up and to God, who gave me the brain to create these designs. Feel free to case all or any portion of these cards for personal or other use. I would be flattered.. A reference back to my blog would make me very happy.
